Welcome to Denial of Destiny!

Up ]

The Bronze had that smoky dark look tonight. Normally filled with college kids and the older high school crowd, it still maintained that same element in the club. But tonight was different. People dancing, talking, the air was almost crackling with energy.

Buffy Summers felt it in the air, and wondered if it was some bad encounter brewing on the edge of her consciousness. She usually got bad feelings when bed things happened, but tonight there was something… odd. Not that life in Sunnydale was not odd. She was the slayer, after all.

She suddenly perked up even more, as Willow noticed her tense up.

"Buffy?" she asked. Buffy’s head tilted slightly, scanning the crowd. There was a vampire here.

The Toadies "Possum Kingdom" started to play. The heavy guitar in the beginning of the song reflected his steps as he walked though the crowds. He could feel her. Their connection was better than the Force, he thought.

Make up your mind

Decide to walk with me

Around the lake tonight

Around the lake tonight

By my side

By my side

Buffy caught sight of him across the dance floor. People seemed to part way for him as he made his way in a straight line for her. His step matched the singer, his black trench coat swayed as he walked. He moved almost in slow motion, and Buffy could not take her eyes off the man, or vampire, with the face of an Angel.

I’m not gonna lie

I won’t be a gentleman

Behind the boathouse

I’ll show you my dark secret

No words passed between them, and as he finally reached where they were, even Willow was taken back by his presence. Something on him, or about him, spoke of power and domination tonight. His eyes drank Buffy in, and her own desire reflected back at him. He slipped his coat off in a smooth motion and threw it over on a chair. He took two seductive steps backwards, turning slightly to the right. Buffy followed his lead and walked out onto the dance floor.

‘Damn… he looks good tonight.’ Willow thought. Tara came back over and Willow made some comment about the color of her drink.

I’m not gonna lie

I want you for mine

My blushing bride

My lover, be my lover yeah

Don’t be afraid, I didn’t mean to scare you,

So help me, Jesus…

Buffy and Angel’s bodies pressed against each other. Their passion was at it’s peak, and Angel knew that was dangerous. One true moment of happiness would have ruined it all… but with the ‘curse’ being removed and the Powers That Be replacing the curse with simple vampirism… he no longer feared having a moment of happiness. And he had many moments of happiness since. All he needed was Buffy with him.

I can promise you

You'll stay as beautiful

With dark hair

And soft skin...forever

Angel’s lips silently reflected the same word as the song:

…Forever

Make up your mind

Make up your mind

And I'll promise you

I will treat you well

My sweet angel

So help me, Jesus

Buffy rejoiced inside, as she felt her heart on fire. He was so… alive tonight. Some new passion burned inside him, it radiated from him, drew her even closer to him than she thought possible. They made love all the time when they were together. She thought about him constantly. He was vibrant, he felt so good to the touch, and finally all that tension that had built up between them for years was released. But buffy never thought it possible… she had fallen even more in love with him than before. And it was great.

Give it up to me

Give it up to me

Do you wanna be

My angel?

So help me!

The singing got quieter now…

Be my angel

Be my angel

Their bodies close, legs intertwined, their lips met in a kiss. Light at first, but as the music again picked up, so did the passion of their kiss. Their lives outside of this moment didn’t matter. Her school. Slaying. Family. His job. Friends. Nightly activities. Nothing matter but this moment. Together. The perfect moment of Zen.

Do you wanna die?

I promise you

I will treat you well

My sweet angel

So help me, Jesus

"I love you." Angel whispered breathily.

"I love you, too." Buffy whispered back.

Jesus

Jesus

Jesus...

It was going to be one of those nights.
